Catch and Release

LACDC returns to USC to perform the L.A. premiere of Catch and Release with guest DJ and composer Filip Zachary.

Catch and Release premiered October 2011 at the Newman Center in Denver, Colorado as part of "Creating New Artistic Frontiers" produced by Headcase Records. Stephen Block, HeadCase Records’ President/CEO, commissioned LACDC and choreographer Kate Hutter to participate in this artistic collaboration stating LACDC is a "cutting-edge dance troop known for their ebullience, energy, physicality and rich response to music.”
The concept of using electronic composition as the musical medium for a contemporary dance production is a groundbreaking approach. This performance is taken to another level with live DJ sets by composer Filip Zachary, a rising star in the genre of electronic music.
