LOS ANGELES - Artist Community for Change L.A. (ACFCLA) presents a Special Engagement Preview Fundraiser for our Original Contemporary Rock Ballet “GAIA” at Barnsdall Gallery Theatre – a facility of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.

"GAIA" (known as Earth or Mother Earth) – is an Original Contemporary Rock Ballet performed by ACFCLA – Artist Community For Change LA Professional Contemporary Dance Company (dancers credits include, Twyla Tharp, Boston Ballet, Lady GaGa, Beyonce, Cats, SYTYCD, TV/Film and more). World Famous Guest Artists “Stiltworld” credits include (Project Runway, Glee, AGT, Fashion Week, Cirque Du Soleil), over 30 children and featuring original music by ACFCLA musicians Erinn Williams, Akiko Joo, Eric Schackne. Extraordinary costume designs by Anne Richardson Collection credits include (The Office, Bruno, she’s a part of Marco Marco costume house team and has worked on pieces for Fergie, The Black Eyed Peas, Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and tons more). The Dress warn by GAIA is an original piece by Annie Richardson made of plastic, plants and paper originally designed for the Fabric Free Fashion Exhibition held at the Visions Art Museum in San Diego. This piece has also been displayed at Exhibit Ambush.

Through a ceremonial meeting of the Elements (Sky, Fire, Water) performed by Stiltworld, “GAIA” Mother Nature and Earth is born. The story takes us through relationships from early civilization, living and working with the land, to the industrial revolution and then a fast forward jump to present time. Unraveling the destruction of the family unit, humanity and our connection and balance to the Earth. Inevitably it is the children that light the way for our future as we discover how to live in balance and harmony with our family, our community and the Earth as we “Unplug and Re-Connect”. The purpose of this event is to entertain, educate and inspire. A Q&A with the entire cast and Artistic Director, Anacia Weiskittel will follow the event.

Artist Community For Change Los Angeles (ACFCLA) is a non-profit (501C3) organization of artists dedicated to using their individual artistic expression to inspire others in positive ways on global, environmental, humanitarian and social causes. Art + Cause = Social Change.

What people are saying about our performances: “The artists are exciting and adventurous and their enthusiasm is palpable. It is incredibly inspiring to watch a performance that fuels you to take an active role in making our world a better place. Its obvious that the heart and soul of an ACFCLA production is its pact that it makes with its audience members: We are here to change the world together.” …H.L.
