| description: | Regina Klenjoski Dance Company, known for its inventive choreography and riveting performances, returns to the James Armstrong Theater for two nights of generously revealed Truths. Truths is a collection of new works and re-works, showcasing Klenjoski’s stylistic range from crystalline narrative poetry, to edgy and athletic, to theatrical. In the Horton Award-nominated, “Love Lies Waiting,” Klenjoski considers the tempestuous landscape of love and desire. The edgy and athletic “Emoticons,” recently premiering at Celebrate Dance to critical acclaim, boldly explores how technology impacts human connections. The premiere of “The Pitch” incorporates vocals and a playfully fresh look at the need to have our voices heard. “Hey Lover, Why the Gun?” is a tantalizing and darkly humorous duet that marks Klenjoski’s return to the stage. Be inspired and invigorated by one of LA’s most deeply provoking choreographers. “…visually stunning…” Jim Farber, The Daily Breeze |
