Dance Bistro, a fresh new festival in the Southern California area, showcases dance companies, choreographers, musicians, and artists in fervent expression of "why we dance.” It is a celebration of diverse dance styles that span genres and cultural boundaries, and a reaffirmation of the universal urge to move and communicate through our bodies.

A tribute to modern dance as well as traditional dance, the Miami Dance Festival showcases live performances by Momentum Dance Company, other South Florida dance troupes and visiting artists. The Miami Dance Festival also includes dance films, master classes, dance workshops and a number of special events, such as an opening night party and a reception for Miami Dance Festival artists, sponsors and patrons.

First Annual MAINE ISLAND DANCE FESTIVAL

Immerse yourself in a daily ritual of Countertechnique, Reactive Body Technique and Improvisation Methods. Your week will include Repertory and Site-Specific Choreography on beautiful Chebeague Island, Maine.

The Festival will be led by teachers/choreographers: Lillian Barbeito, Andrew Cowan and Holly Rothschild

"Bowel Movement" is a satirical ballet designed to confront one of the last taboos of man in as humorous way as possible. In this nightmarish dreamscape, we follow a very refined lady as she battles her darkest fear, her own excrement. Horror, humor, wild theatrics, silent movie era kitsch, you truly don’t want to miss this one. Remember, behind even the nastiest crap is a good man or woman- or at the very very least, a great show.

Yes! We're celebrating the NoHo Arts District this day. Maybe we should call it NoHo Day? Either way it's going to be a party.

Acclaimed Ailey II, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Rennie Harris Puremovement and Deeply Rooted are joined by the Center’s own Dance Ensemble for three nights of inspired movement. These companies merge in a dynamic expression of style, choreography and celebration of the past, present and future of the African American dance tradition.

*Part I will include performances by Rennie Harris Puremovement, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company and August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble.
