Workshop

Learn RAWdance repertory and technique from Artistic Directors Wendy Rein and Ryan T. Smith, with RAWdance company members. Material will focus on exploring the potential of muscular tension and release, the chemistry of partnering and sharing space, and expanding movement through elasticity and breath. Each day will begin with a 45 minute technique warm-up, followed by learning phrase work in RAWdance's detailed and architectural movement style, and creating some of your own. The week will culminate in a short open performance.

This weekend come to our Egyptian Belly Dance Workshop with Marlena Van Dyck-Shaw.

This workshop will focus on beginning to intermediate technique including sharp and fluid hip work, across the floor combinations, arm patterns and placement, “ooey,gooey” core belly movement, and a short choreography.

What is Contemporary Dance? Contemporary Dance combines the elements of modern dance and the classical ballet. Contemporary dance employs many modern dance techniques such as contract-release, fall and recovery, floor work, improvisation, and lifts in partnering.

Join us for Authentic Dunham Technique taught by Master Instructor Ruby Streate , Director of Dance& Education for the Katherine Dunham Centers for Arts and Humanities and the Director of the Katherine Dunham Children's Workshop, former ballet Mistress for the Performing Arts Training Center and currently responsible for the repository of Dunham Choreography.

1 week workshop that focuses on shaping, developing and broadening your potential as a dancer/ performer with an emphasis on performance skills.

This workshop is intended for serious students who wish to turn their body in a sensitive, vibrating instrument of expression.

AL/DD offers the opportunity to dancers from all over the world at any stage of their career the opportunity to study & perform in New York in a supportive & creative environment.

This intensive is designed to help dancers work from their INSTINCT; connecting what they feel with the movements they execute.
