Well obviously I would have to say that my own dance company has some of the best dancers around! All varied and distinguished in there own right, the Company, which is almost 10 years old, has had successful shows in Los Angeles, Seoul Korea, San Marino and Naples Italy, Stuttgart Germany, Zurich Switzerland, and Mexico City Mexico. Check out www.danceplug.com/commonality-dance-company to see pictures and our demo reel!

Houston has some wonderful
Houston has some wonderful dance companies and dance artists - some more well-known than others. For a regional company Houston Ballet is quite impressive, I think, and they do a range of material. We also have Dominic Walsh Dance Theater, Several Dancers CORE, Ad Deum, Houston Metropolitan Dance Co., Fly Dance Company, Planet Funk, Hope Stone, Travesty Dance Group, and a personal favorite (since I dance with them sometimes) is Suchu Dance. If you're traveling to Houston, check out some local dance!!
I have the LaLaLa Human Step
I have the LaLaLa Human Step video of Amelia too! Outrageous. A real inspiration to pointe work. I LOVED LOVED LOVED it, but would as the choreographer to add back in some petite allegro (just my preference). The camera work and set were exquisite! Adam, I thought I gave the LaLaLa Human Step to you on a flight one weekend to watch!!!? ...and Adam, you KNOW that Netherlands is my FAV!!!
Unity Dance Ensemble is also
Unity Dance Ensemble is also an LA and San Diego company worth checking out. I'm a little biased because I'm a member:) but director/choreographer Tessandra Chavez's work is like no one elses. She blends contemporary with hip hop and intense technique but even that won't give a clear picture of her work. You can find her and the company's work on you tube. Just look up Tessandra Chavez or Unity Dance Ensemble. And I can say it's a true pleasure and inspiration to work with her as well. That's so important.
I don't know of too many
I don't know of too many companies aside from the major ones in LA. One of my career goals in life is to be part of a company. So far I've done cruise, cabaret, theme park... I think that is next and THEN I'll continue to pursue the equity stage! :-)
Hopefully when I get to LA or NY I can get into one. I'd LOVE to strengthen my technique more.
Iris.... I met Jiri Kylian
Iris....
I met Jiri Kylian this summer and almost died! I love his work with the Nederlans Dans Theatre! I totally agree with you. Everyone should check them out when they come a city near you! Anthony I will definetly check out La La La Human step, Ive heard great things about them too!

I have known him for a while and recently saw one of his works, and was blown away! Go to mikes socket To check him out! www.danceplug.com/mike-esperanza
I hpe this isn't old news -
I hpe this isn't old news - but hey, it's a new topic. I'm diggin' LaLaLa Human Steps. The work I've seen is a filmography on DVD of a piece called "Amelia". BEAUTIFUL. Eduoard Lock is the choreographer and this 'concert' was made specifically for film. As an audience member, we only get a portion of the piece.... this film provides so many alternate angles of a movement... the speed, the lighting. I highly suggest anyone checking them out.
You´re right. I saw your
You´re right. I saw your company in Stuttgart. It was so ...whow !!!(Still missing words). Everyone has his own charactere and danced in his own style. Each dancer was able to fill the stage alone by himself. And when they danced together, they were an unity, a harmonic community. And... they are all fantastic teachers too.
Another great company is for me the Netherland Ballet Company with the 3 different companies. I saw them in Baden-Baden Germany, all 3 from the youngest to the "oldest". It was so fantastic to see the young dancer with all the new ideas, the main company and the "older" ones, with their experience and charisma. This was one of the best shows I saw.
