Lisa Monaco is a recent graduate from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. While in college Lisa choreographed an adjudicated piece for ACDFA, and was also a member of the Sugar Bears Dance Team taking top rankings at Nationals. During the summer of 2008, Lisa worked as an instructor for Universal Dance Association UDA. Lisa was trained in many styles: ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, etc back home in Kansas City. She performed many roles with the Heart of America Youth Ballet (HAYB) in Kansas City, Missouri, including leading rolls as the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker along with the Queen of Hearts and Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland. She currently is now the ballet mistress and co-coreographer for HAYB. Her most recent work was choreographing Coppela for HAYB. Lisa currently moved to New York and looks forward to pursuing her dreams of performing, choreographing and teaching.
