Nick Anthony is a professional dancer, choreographer, teacher, & judge originally from Southampton, MA. He grew up dancing & competing at his mom & aunt's studio, the Hackworth School of Performing Arts, located in Easthampton, MA, which has been in his family now for 79 years. Growing up, he studied all areas of dance, however, he now primarily focuses on hip-hop. From 2006-2010, Nick spent the majority of his time acquiring his Bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT, while also dancing, choreographing, teaching, & coaching gymnastics as much as possible all over the Northeast. He got his first professional choreography job when he was just 20 years old, choreographing a hip hop routine for the NBA D-League’s Springfield Armor dance team, which they performed at all of their home games during their 2008 season. In 2011, Nick could have been seen assisting two of his mentors, Kenny Wormald & Misha Gabriel, on various cities for the JUMP Dance Convention, as well as at The Dance Awards & at Bobby's Beat Camp. Following his work with Wormald & Gabriel, Nick decided to make the move to relocate to Los Angeles, CA in order to pursue his dance career full-time. Since his move, Nick has signed with Bloc Talent Agency & has been able to work with some of today's biggest, most up-&-coming dancers & choreographers, some of whom include Bryan Tanaka, Stephen “Twitch” Boss, Anze Skrube, Noel Bajandas, Jeff Lapes, Will Wingfield, & Devin Jamieson. This past fall, Nick worked alongside choreographer Tony Gonzales on a new reality television series, entitled “Real Life: The Musical,” as a principle dancer. This show is currently running on the Oprah Winfrey Network. Nick can be seen in music videos for Wednesday Atoms (“Back For the Future”), Neon Trees (“Everybody Talks”), & Chloe Riley (“Drop It Dub”) as well. On the business side of things, in November 2010 Nick was made the Executive Director of his family's new dance workshop, "Generation IV Dance," a role that since taking has kept him extremely busy in planning this annual summer event. Nick also worked as a Project Manager for Travis Wall, Teddy Forance, & Nick Lazzarini’s new dance company, "Shaping Sound,” whose debut performance of “Come Together” completely sold out. These three dancers and their company are currently being featured in the new reality television series “All the Right Moves” on Oxygen, a show Nick also had the chance to work on a little bit. Most recently, Nick worked on his first film project, “Misery Loves Company,” a documentary about creating & performing a live show. Although the “show” part was filmed, it foreshadows a future touring dance show that is currently in the works. Keep an eye out for this film, as it is set to be released on iTunes & Amazon this coming October! Currently, Nick is involved in many up-&-coming projects, on both the talent side of things, as well as the business side, so be sure to be on the look out for him in the near future! In the meantime, Nick continues to pursue his dance career with great drive. When not working, training, or auditioning, he regularly teaches at Liv' Art Dance Studio in North Hollywood, CA. He also works, and is sometimes a substitute teacher, at the world famous Millennium Dance Complex. Nick frequently travels the country & parts of Canada as well to teach & judge, inspiring & educating as many young, aspiring dancers as he possibly can.
