Stephen Agisilaou

Currently Stephen is working on two new shows for 2012 with his company Vertical Shadows, starting with LUNA premiering at the start of next year

2011 found Stephen choreographing the Melbourne premier of the Tony award winning “SPRING AWAKENING” and the green room awarded “PRODIGAL” by Dean Bryant and Mathew Frank. He also choreographed the Melbourne production of the hit Broadway musical “Urinetown” and just finished working as choreographer for the highly acclaimed Rock Opera “Matalor”.

In 2010 he grace our screens as a choreographer on the hit tv show "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE AUSTRALIA" and has also worked on shows like "STAR STRUCK", “KATH AND KIM” and numerous commercials for company’s such as “MYER” and “TXU”

In 2009 Stephen took on his biggest venture yet and created Vertical Shadows, contemporary company. Dedicated to giving paid work to the Australian dance industry. In its first year Vertical Shadows put on productions of the highest level and won many awards including Best Choreography at the Short and Sweet dance festival. Vertical Shadows is now one of Melbourne’s biggest company’s.

2005 Stephen relocated to LA to dance where he was asked to audition for MOVE: The Company, one of Canada's edgiest contemporary companies. Stephen was a principal male dancer in the company and in his second year he became Co-Director of the MOVE Dance Project. He also danced and starred in the internationally winning film "PERCEPTIONS" and directed his first two short films “TALK SHOW HOST” and “INERTIA CREEPS”

At the late age of 17 Stephen a self-taught hip-hop dancer received his diploma in dance, training in jazz, musical theatre, contemporary and classical ballet. Stephen's inborn ability to engage an audience with his individual style of choreography saw him become one of Melbourne's favorite Hip-Hop teachers, being featured in music videos for such artist as “RICKY LEE” and “JADE MACRAE”. Stephen became one of the first members and assistant choreographer for the Melbourne sector of the international Hip Hop Crew Dance2XS.
