It was such a pleasure to watch the Hubbard Street Dance perform yesterday at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.
The company, under the direction of Glenn Edgerton, presented three pieces from three amazing European choreographers: "Tabula Rasa" by Ohad Naharin, "27'52" by Jirí Kylián and "Walking Mad " by Johan Inger. Edgerton chose these very diverse works so that everyone in the audience could appreciate at least one of them... Well, it sort of worked as I loved all three. The whole show was full of intricacy, humor, smart staging and beautiful dancing.
A very enjoyable afternoon, and quite refreshing after seeing so much hip hop and commercial dancing lately.
