After an epic week for ABDC only five crews remained. Honestly, I feel like the crews still standing are rightfully the ones that should be. Double elimintation saw two crews going home, which was an ABDC first. Tragic, but the show must go on, right?
This week was the USHER RAYMOND challenge. I nearly lost my sauce when I heard this because Usher is one of my favorite artists. I was eagerly more excited to see how the crews were going to execute this one.
BLUEPRINT CRU who, for the record is probably one of the most creative crews to ever grace the MTV small screen is up first. I must say that they have for the past two episodes really been struggling for creative juices. I mean, they are every week super entertaining but this week they were just good. I feel like this crew has been in the bottom so much and they are a little tired. It is truly daunting to stay on top of amazing choreography every week and so far they have managed to produce . In conclusion they had some really good moments and I am always blown away by how clean and precise they are. If this crew is eliminated, I will lose all faith in America.
JUNGLE BOOGIE just can't do no wrong!!! They deliver every week, and this week was not exception. They are from the South so naturally the swag they gave was second nature. I love how the female crew member Raqi is just as sick as the other crew members. She shines and doesn't get lost in the crowd like let's say, um, Royal Flush female member Gissette. This week they had some really good moments, like the peel off and the floor choreography. A 10 for them this week. Flawless.
POREOTIX... well... um... I'm glad these boys are veering out of their box but watching them this weeek was kinda awkward. The only thing they did worth mentioning was the reverse choreography sequence. Technically they are an amazing crew, but the gimmick is tiring. They had an amazing song "Yeah" and they really didn't do it justice. I'm sorry, just can't get into them. Guaranteed though they will be in the final (2) two because America gets a woody over short asian dance crews. SALTARE is the underdog here. Exquisite performance to Usher's "Caught Up". Frankly they spanked every crew this week. They even were clean on the choreography!!! WTF?! This crew has really (finally) mastered blending jump roping with actual dance choreography, There was not a dull moment on stage this week. I feel like between Blueprint and them they should have stayed. And that's saying a lot seeing as how I adore Blueprint. But I felt Saltare had a better showing this week. The hardwork really showed. They were sent packing though. :( Rest in peace.
HYPE 5-0 scored major points this week... Only due to the fact that they danced to my most favorite Usher song "U Don't Have To Call" that's a banger rigth there!!!! But as far as the perfomance goes they were not the biz. From the get-go there were a little comical to watch. They did this shoulder move in the beginning that was so sloppy!!! come on HYPE!!!! You guys are better than this!!! What was cool though was they were wearing Wheelies shoes... You know the ones that were popular back in '02 when the video came out... and it worked for them. The boys in this crew are the real stars. They smash the girls. Ok performance this week.
It's down to four crews. This is it folks... who will be ABDC?
Well, well this has been a somewhat exciting season of ABDC... well, ok honestly, no it hasn't but I'm using the SECRET to will that into existence... he he... Last week the crews were all safe from elimination due to a voting error on MTV's part. But with that unexpected blessing came an even deeper trade off... two crews were to be eliminated as a result of it. YIKES! The only crew that was not affected in any way was Blueprint Cru due to their very much deserved immunity.
This week the crews were given DISCO as their challenge. Each crew had a different song from that era that they had to work out. Surprisingly, they all did an amazing job.
SALTARE has been kinda lame the past couple of shows. They were lacking confidence and need something to catapult them out of the gutter they have been wallowing in. This week those jumpers hit out of the park. The combo still lacked more choreography, but what they lacked in choreo they mad up in everything else. Oh and btw they were on fire… literally! These crazy kids lit their jump ropes on fire and actually performed with them while they were ablaze. Ha ha, a true Disco Inferno! Talk about a take no prisoners approach, they figured what the hell let's put our lives in danger as long as we aren't the lame crew any more... :) well done Saltare
*sigh* BLUEPRINT CRU… every week I'm left speechless and in awe over these Canadians every week. But this week I was singing a different tune. They normally have eye popping choreo and super acute musicality… but I felt that this challenge was not their best. They looked out of place trying to fit their style with the music. In return their performance really wasn't anything to write home about. Yes, it was great. but that was about it. Just great :(
JUNGLE BOOGIE hit the ball out of the park this week. This crew was perfect in all in aspects. From the clothing to the show... they were a 10. Of course the song they gave the crew was "Jungle Boogie". The choreography was superb. I nearly lost my mind when the crew went into a salsa section in the middle of the choreo… along with Raqi lifting one of the crew members! Very creative and a joy to watch. Fortunately this crew was not eliminated from the competition this week. Rightfully so.
STATIC NOYZE… well… um the curtain has closed for this crew. They were eliminated from the competition. They had lost one member due to an injury and his absence really showed in the groups performance. The whole show looked like it was just thrown together and the crew was over it. It lacked the trademark Static Noyze theatrics. Ultimately, this crew was eliminated in the double elimination this week . RIP
HYPE 5-0 was super duper adorable this week. This crew just has an amazing stage presence that carries into every performance. The song they were given was " Shake Your Groove Thing" and it was definitely fitting They went for a more comical show this week as opposed to their high energy trademark . The choreography was very cheesy but it was clean and concise. The outfits: darling! Over the course of the competition this crew had been in the bottom . I feel as though they are redeeming themselves every week and really have a fighting chance of being ABDC.
HEAVY IMPACT for the life of me just doesn't do it for me. I love the fact that they are big dudes killing it but every week their performances lack a WOW factor. With this weeks disco challenge they only thing WOW about their performance was their outfits. The idea they were trying to convey in the performance was that of an audition. They wore different numbers on their chests etc. Again this crew never does anything that blows me away. They were eliminated. RIP
POREOTIX was as close the brilliance this week than ever before. This crew is consistently proving that they can do more than just pop and lock . They handled bizness! Their choreography slayed the beast. They opened with a waacking section that was so cute. These boys look like like treasure trolls dancing. They of course had their trademark goofiness. I couldn't help but notice that they bit a floor trick from Blueprint Cru.... I'm just saying… but this performance was stellar. What was even more mind blowing was human body benching they did at the end of the performance. I mean that guy was lifting someone of his own body weight! All in all a fabulous show!
I felt that this week had its moments. I was not shocked by the crews that were eliminated due to the fact that I had made those predictions all along. Now it's time for the real deal... the remaining crews must pull out all the stops . Go hard or go home. Until next time stay plugged in...

Sup :) ... Yes kiddies the games have begun!!!! ABDC is now underway and all the crews have sealed their spot in the national competition. Now, from watching previous performances first hand by all the crews, I can safely say this season should be eventful and exciting.
So this week the crews had to perform to songs that are big on the charts. Like anyone cares or even listens to the radio any more. ABDC loses ten points for originality lol... Anywho first up was...
Hype 5-0 This crew was definitely energetic this week. What is so entertaining about them is that they are so full out and energetic and dance for their lives. The choreo was smoking hot. The tricks though were kind of corny and the ending was a little contrived and last minute. Not very creative. But all in all they showed and handled biz. Like I said before I think this crew can come with some versatility. I do like that they incorporate their native Hawaiian style of dance into their performances. Keep it moving...
Heavy Impact
These boys are no joke... their presence... is um... definitely apparent when you watch them dance. This week I felt their routine was very predictable. They didn't do anything that was like OMG amazing. Oh and one of the guys attempted to hit fouettés and fell out of them... no bueno. I feel as though this crew needs more intense and full out choreography to match their proportions. Because of their big nature they tend to look hal ass if they are not executing big movements. I love them though. They are breaking down walls. Just next time come with more intense choreo.
Poreotix LMAO!!! Was it me or did this crew bite the same triple coupé turn that Hype 5-0 did?? Hmm... so ok, yes this crew is clean. Yes this crew is entertaining. But can we please get something with some kind of... I don't know... um choreography? This crew is definitely about the tricks and the gimmicks and the acting of dancing. But I feel that's about it. This week they were good, but so was every other crew. Not my fave nor will they ever be. Too predictable. Like I said before, take a cruise down to the OC and you will find 10 other crews that do the exact same thing. Nothing catches your eye with this crew. Tragic. They do although have superb musicality. There... see, I was nice. And of course they were not eliminated.
Swagger Crew No joke... this week they were not on their A-Game. They looked tired and performed as such. Their choreography just doesn't do it for me. The girl is definitely eye candy, but i just cant get into them. It's like their performance are a train wreck of the girl trying to be sexy (which she pulls off famously and to be quite honest, she outshines the boys) and the rest of the crew just doing whatever. They were booted. I feel like if they would have had more creative choreo they would have had a shot.
Jungle Boogie Now this is what I'm talking about. This crew always delivers. The lady is superb in this group. They seamlessly blend tribal African movements with modern hip-hop choreography that is always a joy to watch. This group is so cohesive and you can tell that they are all on the same page in regards to the vision of the choreography they are trying to convey. They always keep the performance moving and there is never any puzzling sections that leave you wondering "What was that?" This week was an excellent example of how crews should deliver.
Royal Flush
Am I the only one who feels like the girl in this crew is so out of place? So, ok watching this week's performance from Royal Flush it dawned on me that the girl is the weakest link. The boys nailed the choreography and the tricks in the beginning were on point. Then all of a sudden there was something that caught my eye, and not in a good way... the girl. She stuck out like a sore thumb. Her hair, the way she dances, everything. She isn't bad by any means, but she just doesn't fit. The group as a whole was solid at best. Their transitions were sloppy and blurry. Royal Flush needs to step it up considerably if they want to hang with the competition. They were not eliminated, so we will see.
Saltare First of all I love to jump rope. Very nostalgic. But this week this crew looked very corny almost like the Harlem Globetrotters corny. I felt watching them this week that I was watching a Nickelodeon kid show where the theme of the day was jumping rope. I was right in my first observation of this crew that they would have a hard time actually doing choreography. Nothing they did was impressive. When you first saw this group you were mesmerized by how well they could jump rope and do all the tricks. But it's like once you have seen it, to see it again is like 'deja vu'. I honestly don't have anything else to say.
Statik Noyze
Now this is what I'm talking about. This crew had theatrics, passion and fire. The theme: sickening. The choreography: on point. Loved how they had solos going on within the whole performance. The ladies duking it out for the men was sexy. The transitions were noticeable and very well executed. I thoroughly enjoyed this week's number. This crew is definitely the one of the ones to watch. Thank you for being amazing.
Blue Print Cru
Speechless. These mofos slayed !!! The best performance of the night. From the time they took the stage they made sure that they were taking no prisoners. Amazing choreography. I like how they gave you that West Hollywood "gayhop" style and switched it up real quick. They definitely have their ear to what's hot. They attack choreography like they are dancing for their life. Brilliant. This crew puts all other crews to shame. Love and adore them. Can't get enough.
There it is folks... The first real showdown. Until next time y'all stay plugged in...
