Trey Knight’s professional experience spans 25 years and 27 countries. His vision combined with his diverse experience brings forth dynamic, avant-guard performances that captivate, excite and transport audiences into unforeseen worlds.
Knight has worked over 10 years to develop an original stilt dance technique combining artistic skating physics, diverse dance styles, aerial, partnering and acrobatic skills into a vision both breathtakingly unique and universally evocative. In 2004, Knight trained versatile artists in this technique and created his co. STILT WORLD. Knight’s STILT WORLD has been in constant demand since their premiere.
Well into their fourth season, this unique company has been seen internationally performing for Cirque du Soleil, NBC’s America’s Got Talent, the Latin Grammy’s, Christina Aguilera’s World Tour, Panic at the Disco National tour and LA Fashion week. They also have appeared in commercials for Verizon, Target, Cadbury, Ford, Nike and in music videos with Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Mylie Cyrus and Fergie.
Knight’s performance history is vast. He was a featured artist for Cirque du Soleil’s TV production “Solstrom” along with the world premiere gala for cirque’s new production KA. He received the Choreography Media Honors for his work on the show "Solstrom." As dance captain and performer for Paul McCartney’s world tour, highlights included performing at the Rome Coliseum and in Moscow’s Red Square.
Knight has also worked on several films including Austin Powers III “Goldmember”, “Cinderella Story” and “Hellbent.” Knight worked on Los Angeles Opera’s “The Grand Duchess,” directed by Gary Marshall, a short film with Sean Lennon, choreographed and performed with Krassimir at the Kodak Theater and recently choreographed/performed with other Cirque du Soleil alumni for prod./director Chris Childers and Choozi Entertainment.
Trey was also a gold medalist at the 1995 Artistic Roller Skating World Championships. 9 National titles and 7 international skating titles throughout his 15 year skating career.
Knight’s work includes fifteen years of costume design and construction. Strengthening his skills at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, he has designed wardrobe for Stilt World, world skating champions, circus artists and clients such as Warner Bros. and Paul McCartney.
