Magic & Wonder Theater is seeking high energy and versatile male performers, dance experience and openness to explore the world of large scale magic props.

Production Info

Entering their fourth year at the Magic and Wonder Theatre in Paradise, PA (formerly Rainbow Dinner Theater), Producers Brett and Labrina Myers are producing two shows next year.

MYSTERY is a grand-scale illusion show, exploring mysterious worlds such as the lost empire of "Atlantis", the magic of "Neverland", and the excitement of the "Roaring 1920's". The audience will also join in the mysteries behind a "Masquerade Ball" and the daring escapades of a "Secret Agent". The show features large illusions and more dynamic circus arts than ever before, reminding audiences of the true magic that exists all around us.

Performances run March 15-December 31 2023 (Primarily Tues-Sat)

JUKEBOX JIVE is a song and dance variety review in its second year, featuring all of the best songs from decades of the past! From School Days, to Prom, and from the Beach to the Disco, there is something for everyone. With thrilling arrangements, top notch vocals, variety acts, comedy, magic, dazzling technical elements, and more, the audience will be singing, dancing, and entertained from start to finish!

Performances run April 5th-Dec 23rd 2023 (Primarily Wed-Sat)

Compensation/Fee

Seasonal/Part-time (performers are cast in either Mystery, Jukebox Jive or the Christmas shows)
-approximately 3-5 shows per week -$225-$375
Full-Time (performers are cast in Mystery and Jukebox Jive)
-approximately 9 shows per week- $600-$800 depending on special skills (plus benefits)

Requirements

Mystery

  • Comfortable with dance lifts of female performers.
  • Must be able to easily execute a lateral pull down consisting of 90lbs of resistance.

Jukebox Jive
High energy male singer/dancers. This is a six person cast, so must be comfortable with vocal features and carrying harmonies. Every role in the show will have the potential to learn and use variety arts (aerial arts, juggling, roller skating, quick change act, etc.), but will not be required.

Performers with special skills, circus arts, aerial arts, juggling, etc are encouraged to submit. Some performers will need to be comfortable with small spaces and heights. Most of our props have height and weight restrictions to keep our performers safe and minimize risk of injury. We have the set the following physical requirements.
