Keone and Mari E-book "Ruth", the first ever dance book

Happy summer, Pluggers! Hopefully your season is in full swing, full of relaxing days at the beach, cool drinks, and maybe a good book! Looking for a new read? Well, a few weeks ago, we told you about a new artistic endeavor by one of the world’s favorite dance couples - Keone and Mari. (If you missed it, catch up here). They have been collaborating to create an an "enhanced eBook" titled "RUTH" that combines text, dance, original music, film, photography, design, and technology for a truly unique "reading" experience. It's out-of-the-box format makes it our pick for the book of the summer!

And if you were wondering how something like this will come to life (we definitely were!), the wait is over, because the full e-book is now available for download for $9.59. But if you want to take a peek before you buy, you're in luck, because a sample of the first chapter has been released. The 16-minute clip immerses you into the world of the main character, Ruth, an elderly woman whose family is taking her to a nursing home.

For the majority of the video, the camera acts as your eyes, scanning you through the text (and if you're a slower reader, don't worry - there's plenty of time for you to get every word). But around the twelve-minute mark, the video transforms. There's art, photography, music, and of course, some pretty incredible dancing. (Spoiler alert, we're low-key obsessed with the dancing in the back of the truck sequence).

The visuals are absolutely breathtaking; imaginative and perfectly balanced, it's just the sort of thing that you would expect from this dancing creative duo. Are you hooked? Leave us a comment and tell us if you're going to buy the full version, or if you have another book that you think should be our top pick!
