As a true Midwestern gal, Johanna received her BFA in Musical Theater and Dance from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2012 where she embraced movement as a form of connection to music, story telling, and innovation. Her studies gave her the opportunity to bond and perform alongside Turkish artists in Istanbul and discover the country of Jordan! During academia, Johanna fell in love with energy and evolution of commercial dance so after college, she ventured out to the sunny City of Angels. During her time in Los Angeles she was able to perform with, learn from, and create beside talented artists that she is lucky to call friends. Most importantly, her time in Los Angeles affirmed her love for the way words and movement can combine, so that art can speak to a broader audience. Johanna found her way back to the Midwest, in the Windy City, to make some words move.
