Choreographer, Dancer, Teacher
Stephanie Gevone Heckert, 22 years old and an Iowa native, has been living and working in the L.A. Dance Industry for one year. She started dancing at the age of four and is well versed in Ballet, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Jazz and Jazz Funk with additional experience in Tap, Musical Theatre and Aerial Arts. Stephanie also has a strong background in Classical Voice, Choral Singing and Vocal Performance. She has trained extensively in the dance convention circuit, trained with and assisted beside industry professionals such as Kobi Rozenfeld, Steve Ewing and Alex Little, danced on film for choreographers and music artists, modeled for contemporary art pieces and performed on countless stages all over the world. Upon moving to California in 2009, Stephanie joined The Young Americans, a world-renowned teaching and performance group based in Corona, CA. She was invited to participate in International Music Outreach Tours to Germany, Holland, Poland, Sweden and China, where she taught dance and music to thousands of people of all ages. She then spent a year teaching dance at studios and schools in many Southern California cities. Stephanie is best known for her innovative, authentic and unique choreography and teaching style. You can find her choreography being performed behind one of LA’s hottest R&B artists, “NERA”. She has also choreographed award-winning small groups, large groups and solo routines for dance studios and dance teams in the Midwest and Los Angeles. Currently, Stephanie spends most of her time teaching at studios in California and dancing professionally with Keshet Chaim Dance Ensemble (Kobi Rozenfeld), MashUp Contemporary Dance Company (Victoria Brown) and assisting LA based teacher and choreographer Steve Ewing. She continues her dance training at professional studios in L.A. and hopes to one day use her choreography as a communicative art form that will connect dancers all over the world.
