Irvine Barclay Theatre is one of the leading presenters of contemporary dance on the West Coast. Since 1992, the Barclay has presented a wide range of dance offerings including many companies southern California debuts, as well as, U.S. and West Coast premieres. The Barclay is also home to many southern California-based dance companies, including the National Choreographers Initiative, Backhausdance, Festival Ballet Theatre and Maple Ballet, among others. In addition, the Barclay produces a Flamenco Festival and presents a varied array of world dance from around the globe.
