Alex grew up in southeastern Michigan, beginning his formal dance training at age six. Alex graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a minor in Creative Writing from Western Michigan University in May 2015. While at WMU, he performed choreography by Lauren Edson, Gerald Arpino, KT Nelson, Peter Chu, Gabrielle Lamb, Antony Tudor and Ohad Naharin. Alex performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. during the American College Dance Festival Association in 2012 and was fortunate to be able to study dance in New York City with Gibney Dance and in Montréal with O Vertigo and Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal. Alex was selected to dance for musical legend Bobby McFerrin in the 2016 improvisational concert “Bobby Meets Michigan” at the Wharton Center for Performing Arts in East Lansing, MI. Alex has choreographed for several artistic platforms from formal dance concerts to Ballets to Musical productions. He choreographed for Youth American Grand Prix 2018 in Pittsburgh, and his choreography received a top twelve placement. Alex is a company dancer with Eisenhower Dance Detroit, where he has performed works by Laurie Eisenhower, Stephanie Pizzo, Edgar Zendejas, Meg Paul, Joshua Manculich, Joshua Peugh, Ron de Jesus, and Darrell Moultrie among others. Alex was excited to perform and teach on tour with Eisenhower Dance Detroit in Tel Aviv, Israel and Lądek Zdrój, Poland in 2017.
