Roles
Let 'Em Eat Cake
- JOHN P. WINTERGREEN [40-50s, male, any ethnicity] The newly ousted President of the United States. Hatches a scheme to overthrow his successor and become dictator. Seeking a huge comic personality. Character baritenor.
- MARY WINTERGREEN [30-40s, female, any ethnicity] Former First Lady. The brains of the operation. Though her husband's ambition was once attractive, she now finds herself watching him destabilize the free world. Requires strong comic chops. Soprano with a high coloratura.
- ALEXANDER THROTTLEBOTTOM [30-50s, male, any ethnicity] Former Vice President. A lovable idiot. People turn the other way when they see him coming, but the audience can't help but adore him. Requires a unique comic presence, physical comedy a plus. Character baritenor
- KRUGER [30-40s, male, any ethnicity] A street revolutionary in the Marxist vein (Karl, not Groucho.) So intense. Foil to Wintergreen. Bari-tenor, strong vocalist. Someone you'd cast as Che Guevara, if Che Guevara also had to land jokes. Baritenor.
- TRIXIE [30s-40s, female or non-binary, any ethnicity] Seeking a bold, out-of-left-field take on the wisecracking burlesque showgirl archetype. Holds a lot of power in politics despite all appearances, eventually winds up with Kruger. Comic genius, character singer. Mezzo/belter.
- GENERAL SNOOKFIELD [50s-60s, female or non-binary, any ethnicity] A gruff warmonger who is more interested in dating Trixie than leading the Army. An incompetent horndog. Requires strong comic chops. Character alto/baritone
- LIPPMAN [30s-60s, male, any ethnicity] Former Secretary of Agriculture. Neurotic. A comic character man with quick verbal wit and adept in physical comedy. Character baritone.
- GILHOOLEY [30s-60s, male, any ethnicity] Former Secretary of State. Not so bright. A comic character man with quick verbal wit and adept in physical comedy. Character baritone.
- FULTON [30s-60s, male, any ethnicity] Former Press Secretary. Smart but corrupt. A comic character man with quick verbal wit and adept in physical comedy. Character baritone.
- TWEEDLEDEE [40s-60s, male, any ethnicity] The current President of the United States. A bear of a man. "Bachelor." A little dumb. OK, a lot dumb. Seeking a strong comic actor. Character baritone.
