We are so excited to bring Shivani Thakkar onto the DancePlug team. Shivani will be bringing years of performance and choreography experience, and will be creating Bollywood classes and exercises for our subscribers.
Shivani has worked internationally, and is trained in Bharata Natyam (Indian classical dance), Bollywood, tap, jazz, and ballet. Some of her performance credits include Disney's "Step Up 3-D", Nickelodeon's "Big Time Rush," and the Vanitha Film Industry Awards in India.
She's also worked with companies such as Britto Dance Company, Karamgraphy, and Dakshina/Daniel Phoenix Singh Dance Company. She is also the Founder and Artistic Director of MKM Bollystars.
Shivani was also the Indian dance specialist and a lead performer and the documentary film “Dance Can Do All That,” which won Best Documentary at the Sea to Sky Film Festival (British Columbia) and was a Finalist Documentary at the Dore Schary Film and Video Awards, as well as recipient of the Multicultural Motion Picture Association Diversity Award.
