You've Got Me Feeling Emotions
A performance exercise for connecting your face and body when expressing emotion. Dancers often use the body and forget the face. This exercise puts the face first.
Start without a mirror. Let your face get weird: scrunch it, stretch it, smile, frown. A big range of motion gives you more to pull from, and it's fine to laugh at yourself. Go through sad, angry, happy and tired with only your face, then run the same emotions again with your body moving.
Use the emotions given, make up your own or draw on memories.
