Corina's Intermediate Ballet Class #2
In this ballet barre class, a hold is not a freeze. Hold the leg at 45 degrees and keep reaching, since opposition of forces creates the stability.
Power comes in and out of the dégagés, with accents in or out on the count. When the speed rises, the legs get lighter rather than stronger. Through the adagio, the head, chest and épaulement matter as much as the legs. The class finishes with a coda of piqué turns, chaînés and fouettés, and a grand jeté.
