Controlled Battements
An across-the-floor progression that builds core strength to sustain transitions out of leg lines. Work on control in the legs while you travel. It runs: a jump, a pas de bourrée, chaînés, a fan kick, then a battement that you hold and lower with care.
Keep the first position tight, even in plié. Reach out and around instead of forcing the leg up and hunching.
The arms matter too. Press the shoulder blades down and together, then set the arms in second as if settling on a table. That keeps the upper body quiet while the leg rises.
