Kathryn Boland

Writer

Kathryn Boland, MA, RYT-200, R-DMT, is a long-time dancer, movement educator and writer/journalist (primarily dance and yoga).

A BA in Dance from The George Washington University (2011), followed by an MA In Expressive Therapies: Dance/Movement Therapy from Lesley University (2015), began her journey of more deeply understanding the potential of movement for healing, empowerment, community building, social change, and so much more.

Teaching yoga and dance -- with students of all ages and in various contexts -- further propelled that journey. Most recently, she has brought those interests into the growing ventures of Mindful Movers -- offering yoga and mindfulness to boost holistic wellness, harmony, and authentic creativity in dancers and dance communities -- and Move for a Movement -- a YouTube show spotlighting dance artists and dance lovers who are doing amazing work at the intersection of dance and social justice // social change.

Kathryn also writes regularly for Dance Informa and YogaU Online, and has contributed to DIYDancer, Dance Studio Life, Dance Dispatches, Dance Magazine, and Dance Teacher Magazine. Her professional portfolio is available upon request.

Experience with arts/non-profit administration, communications/marketing, and social media has further broadened her skill-sets.

Outside of work, she enjoys taking yoga and dance classes, performing as a dancer, music, comedy, time in nature, and a cup of coffee with a good friend (masked and socially distant these days, of course).
