Kelsey owes her discovery of her passion for ballet to her mom, who strongly encouraged her to participate in the local Nutcracker when she was 11. She then attended Canada’s Royal Winnipeg summer intensive in 2012 and was accepted into their professional division program where she would remain until she graduated in 2016. Following her years at the school she trained with the Royal Winnipeg Aspirant program, here she was given multiple performance and touring opportunities with the company including: The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and The Sleeping Beauty. During this time she competed at the Tanzolymp dance competition in Berlin in both the ballet and contemporary categories. Kelsey has also trained in various intensives including: Atlanta Ballet Summer Intensive, Arts Umbrella, and Canada’s Ballet Jorgen summer intensive where she was offered a short term touring contract to perform in their production of “Anastasia”. While working in Toronto for Ballet Jorgen, Kelsey auditioned for Disneyland Paris and was offered a character/performer contract. Kelsey accepted this contract and moved to France for one year performing as well as teaching ballet to the Disneyland Paris cast members. (And trying all the croissants!) Kelsey was then offered a dancer contract with the RWB Dance Collective, a contemporary based start up company, in which she spent six weeks dancing and performing at unique venues around Winnipeg. Kelsey is currently training and keeping her options open for new opportunities.
