God bless PBS, amiright?  They're one of those wonderful organizations that helping to keep the Arts relevant and easily accessible to the public (which is becoming increasingly difficult these days). We love when they put dance in the spotlight, which they've done yet again by announcing the second season of their series "Bare Feet".

Emmy Award winning host and producer Mickela Mallozzi will travel around her home in New York City, spending time in different ethnic neighborhoods, learning about the dance and musical traditions of the different cultures that make NYC the diverse city it is.

In the first episode, Mallozzi finds herself in Chinatown, learning about the preparations for Chinese Lunar New Year performances. Some of the other episodes will include:

  • Learning some salsa from "The Last Mambo King" Orlando Marin
  • Performing onstage in Broadway's "Chicago"
  • Some improvised tap moves with Harlem tapper Jason Samuels-Smith
