We've known that Disney was working on a film adaptation of The Nutcracker for awhile. But until yesterday, we didn't know much about it (besides the fact that dancing darling Misty Copeland would be involved). Well, pluggers, the trailer for "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" just dropped, and we gotta say - it's going to be a wild ride.

It appears that Disney has given E.T.A. Hoffman's already fanciful story a creative twist - the world they've imagined is reminiscent of the live-action Alice in Wonderland films from a few years ago. Droselmeyer gifts Clara with a magical gold thread that leads her to the Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers, and Land of Sweets. But there is a Fourth Realm, where Clara, together with her new friend, a soldier named Phillip, must face the evil Mother Ginger (that's right Mother Ginger is not a nice lady) and her army of mice.

Clara is played by Mackenzie Foy, who you may recognize from Insterstellar, and Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part II. Morgan Freeman plays Drosselmeyer, and yes - he's totally rocking an eyepatch. Keira Knightley is the Sugar Plum Fairy, sporting a cotton-candy like pink wig as she welcomes Clara to the new world. Phillip is played by Jayden Fowora-Knight, and Mother Ginger by the wonderful Helen Mirren. And dancers will be very excited to see Misty dancing as the Snow Queen.

Get excited, but not impatient, as the film hits theaters NEXT November 2018!
