Free Dance Classes Online

Plenty of dance videos online are free. Very few are taught properly, filmed so you can follow them, or built to be repeated. Here is what you can watch on DancePlug without paying, and what a free trial gives you.

Full Glass with Jian Pierre-Louis: a free beginner hip-hop class

Free full class

Full Glass with Jian Pierre-Louis

A complete beginner hip-hop class, taught section by section and filmed from the back and the front. Watch it here, or take it on DancePlug, where you can mirror it, slow it down and loop the tricky parts.

A player built for learning, free on this class

Taught in sections

Each section is broken down, then run with counts, then with music. Jump straight to any of them from the chapters menu.

Back and front

Learn it from behind, following the instructor's direction as they dance. The full run-throughs repeat from the back and then facing you, mirrored.

Flip it any time

The flip button mirrors the video left to right, so you can learn on whichever side feels natural.

Slow it down

Drop the speed to learn tricky counts, then bring it back up to practise at tempo.

Loop the hard part

Replay the chapter you are working on until it sticks. Press R to turn the loop on or off.

Instructor notes

The instructor's notes sit below the video, with the music, the level and how long the class runs.

What you can watch for free

Every class on DancePlug opens with a free preview. No account, no card: you see how the instructor teaches, how the class is filmed, and whether the style suits you. Once you are a member the preview is replaced by the full class.

We also release full classes free, on DancePlug and on YouTube, starting with hip-hop. They are the complete class, not a trailer, so you can train with one today and decide afterwards whether you want the rest of the library.

The free trial is the third option, and the most complete one. For 7 days you have everything a paying member has, and if it is not for you, cancel before the trial ends and you are not charged.

Free on DancePlug

  • A preview of every class, with no account needed
  • A full hip-hop class, free here and on YouTube
  • 7 days of everything, cancel anytime before it ends
  • Articles and audition listings, always free

How the trial works

  1. Pick monthly or yearly and start the trial
  2. Train free for 7 days, with everything unlocked
  3. Cancel before day 7 and pay nothing

What a free trial is actually for

Seven days is long enough to answer the only question that matters: will you use it? Take a class, come back the next day, and see whether the teaching suits how you learn. That tells you more than any amount of browsing.

You need a card to start, and nothing is charged during the trial. We email you the renewal terms when you sign up, and the date is in your account, so the end of the trial is never a surprise. If it is not for you, cancel in a couple of clicks and that is the end of it.

If you stay, it is $20 a month, or $99 a year if you pay yearly, which works out at about $8.25 a month. You can pause a monthly membership if life gets busy.
