American Youth Dance Theater seeks experienced instructor to teach Tap classes for the 2026/27 school year.

Classes on Wednesdays 3:30-6:15pm
Contract is for September through mid-June.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Principal duties include teaching weekly technique classes and choreographing dances for December and June recitals. Related duties include selecting recital music and costumes, attending 3 staff meetings (September, November and May) and completing year end student evaluations.
There are additional time requirements during recital weeks including dress/tech rehearsals on weekday afternoons-evenings and performances on Friday evening & Saturday matinees and evening.
Compensation/Fee
Hourly rate depends on experience level, starting at $50/hr
Requirements
- Must have several years of experience teaching children and teens ages 4-12 and be experienced at choreographing polished recital dances.
- Minimum of 3 years teaching & choreography experience
- College or Masters degree in dance preferred, but not required
- Excellent classroom management skills, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit
