Description
Imogen Reeve & Co. are seeking one highly skilled, technically accomplished, and creatively generous female-identifying dancer to join the creation of *Mother Computer: Folk Dances From The Future*.
Production Info
*Mother Computer: Folk Dances From The Future* is a new dance theatre work exploring how AI invents and reinvents folklore, myth, and cultural memory through a feminist lens. We welcome applications from trans, queer, and gender-expansive women.
Developed collaboratively over recent months, the work sits at the intersection of femininity, futurism, and folklore. Drawing on female folkloric archetypes—including the mermaid, mother, snake, and witch—it examines how historical constructions of womanhood continue to shape contemporary identities and how emerging technologies may reinforce or transform these narratives. Choreographically, the piece reimagines collective folk movement through repetition, fragmentation, and disruption, exploring connection, care, and belonging in digitally mediated worlds.
