Description
Join José Mateo Ballet Theatre’s 36th annual production of The Nutcracker this holiday season! JMBT welcomes dancers of all backgrounds to audition for its professional company and character roles for the upcoming Nutcracker season. Professional dancers, adult ballet students, and college students are all encouraged to audition.
Production Info
Rehearsal period:
November 12, 2024 through December 22, 2024 (6-week contract)
Monday–Friday, 9:00AM–4:00PM
Some weekends as necessary to rehearse with the children’s cast
Rehearsals will commence on November 12th and continue until the end of the production run. Dancers are to report each day for company class and rehearsals throughout the day. Daily rehearsal schedule will be provided with advance notice. Dancers will have a one hour lunch break during weekday rehearsals. Please note that weekend rehearsals will be scheduled ad hoc based on dancers’ casting and the children’s cast schedule.
Performances:
December 6-22 (17 total shows) at the Strand Theatre, Dorchester, MA.
Compensation/Fee
$300-800 per week commensurate with experience and role
Requirements
- Dancers must be legally authorized to work in the US. We are not able to sponsor international dancers at this time.
- Dancers are required to be available for and perform in all shows.
Preference will be given to local dancers from the Greater Boston area.
