All performers must be 18 years old by the first day of rehearsal. Performers under the age of 18 are cast from the Humphreys School of Musical Theatre and The River School for Performing and Visual Arts.

NOTE: In compliance with The Hobby Center guidelines, all cast and crew, and musicians must be vaccinated to take part in mainstage productions.


  • Mark Cohen-20-30 Filmmaker and video artist. Knee-deep in his own soul-searching, Mark is the typical young artist. Vocal range top: G#4; Vocal range bottom: C3
  • Roger Davis-20-25 A struggling musician. Vocal range top: A4; Vocal range bottom: F#2
  • Tom Collins– 25-25 A computer genius and liberal professor. He is a nurturer with a smooth and relaxed disposition. Vocal range top: A4; Vocal range bottom: F#2
  • Benjamin Coffin III-25-35 The landlord of Mark and Roger’s apartment building. traded in his personal morals for power and wealth. Vocal range top: F#4; Vocal range bottom: D3
  • Joanne Jefferson– 25-35 A public interest lawyer and headstrong lesbian. She is smart and purposeful in all her decisions. Carries on a tumultuous relationship with Maureen. Vocal range top: E5; Vocal range bottom: G3
  • Angel Dumott Schunard– 20-30 Vivacious street drummer and drag queen. Incredible gift of dance and a magnetic personality. Becomes romantically involved with Tom. Vocal range top: D5; Vocal range bottom: C3
  • Mimi Marquez-20-25 Dancer. Lives in the same building as the loft. Vocal range top: E5; Vocal range bottom: F#3
  • Maureen Johnson- 20-25 Zany performance artist. She has recently dumped Mark for Joanne. Vocal range top: F5; Vocal range bottom: G3
