Silver Lining is a contemporary dance duet performed by two Black men exploring bodily remembrance as a way to honor lineage, embrace identity, reclaim history, and imagine liberated futures.

In response to the rollback of DEI initiatives and the censorship of histories centering people of color, the work asks: What happens when histories are no longer taught? How do we remember? What is lost, and what might be gained through memory?

The creative process draws on gesture, improvisation, somatic practice, and social dance to investigate memory, embodiment, vulnerability, and care. This residency period will focus on movement research, collaboration, and experimentation rather than finalized choreography.

Silver Lining is a funded research and creation process supported through residencies at Trisk Research Residency and Baryshnikov Arts Center. Due to the scale of current funding, this is a stipend-based opportunity with modest compensation provided.
