Roles
- MARTHA — 18+ to play younger. A survivor. A seemingly composed young woman who is enduring sexual abuse at home. Has to carry the secret that shouldn't belong to her. Lives in fear of being cast out.
- THEA — 18+ to play younger. A fresh-faced, trusting young woman. Has drunk society’s Kool-Aid. Trusts the system.
- ANNA — 18+ to play younger. Strong, empathetic, resilient. In some ways, the protective older sister of the other girls. Sees things for what they are--a witness.
- HANSCHEN — 18+ to play younger. A handsome, sly seducer. A budding capitalist who knows how to work the system to his advantage. Knows what he wants and is accustomed to getting it.
- ERNST — 18+ to play younger. A pure-hearted young queer boy in the repressed, no-nonsense world of a 19th century German village. Filled with desire and terrified.
- OTTO — 18+ to play younger. A good-natured schoolboy. Struggles privately with his desires, worried that they are inappropriate, can only express them through song.
- GEORG - 18+ to play younger. One of the guys. Consumed by adolescent desire for his buttoned-down piano teacher. A funny, chaotic, messy teenage boy.
