On one of the world’s most intensely guarded borders, soldiers are putting down their guns and heading for the ballet barre! Once a week, South Korean soldiers are taught a class by one of the dancers from the Korean National Ballet. Two years of military service is required for all men in South Korea, and it’s no wonder that a little ballet is doing, well, wonders! Ballet, they say, relieves their stress and makes them laugh. And as we already know, it makes you tough, too! It is helping to increase their flexibility and correct posture issues. Some soldiers are even saying they are planning to continue lessons after they leave the service!
