There’s great news on the horizon, Pluggers! The National Endowment for the Arts, or NEA, is not only going to continue on, but it’s going to receive an increase in budget of nearly $3 million dollars!

The current presidential administration has been making a lot of budget cuts. One of those cuts was supposed to be The NEA, but the organization has managed to not only stay afloat, but thrive. This organization was supposed to be extinct under the conservative legislature of Mr. Trump, but they now have even more of a budget since last year. But why, you ask, and how?

Well, just like anything, all good things take time. There have been a number of concerts that focus on arts advocacy, which has helped bring attention to the NEA. But the truth is, momentum for arts advocacy cannot stop. Even though this small victory feels great, we have to keep fighting to make art a priority in this country!
