She has done everything for you. She bought your first pair of ballet shoes. She picked out your very first tutu. She taught you how to put on stage makeup. She cleaned your leotards and tights. She rhinestoned your costumes. But most importantly, she believed in you every step of the way. Who is she, you ask? Well, her name is mom, and without her, our dance careers would simply not exist.

Are you worried about what you are going to do for this woman that transformed your future, and helped you become the dancer you are today? We're here to help! Here's a step by step guide to the perfect day:

1. Clear your schedule. As dancers, we live SUPER busy lives. But mom deserves your time, ESPECIALLY today. If you're able to clear your whole day to spend with her, great; if that's not possible, make sure you set a reminder to call or FaceTime her for a bit.

2. If you live in the same area, wake her up with breakfast! We're willing to be that your momma made you delicious and nutritious meals that helped your body power through hours of rehearsals and performances. Why not thank her the same way? If you're far away, consider getting creative and sending her something delicious through Seamless or UberEats!

3. Give her a little something. Price doesn't matter - it can be as simple as a handmade card, or a piece of jewelry. If it will make her feel special and important, then it's the perfect gift!

4. If you're more into experiences than material gifts, how about taking her to see a dance show? Can't make it to the theater? No worries - how about heading to the movie theater instead. San Francisco Ballet is gracing the big screen with their presence this Mother’s Day weekend, and they will be performing the Shakespeare classic, “Romeo & Juliet” - perfect for a date with mom!

Even if you don't follow our guide completely, we hope it gave you some inspiration on how to thank your #1 fan this Mother's Day!
