Lots of choreographers are playing with site-specific work nowadays, but this is a whole new level! The Farm to Ballet project in Vermont is traveling around and performing at farms around the state. The goal of the project is to celebrate Vermont’s vibrant farming culture while trying to create a broader audience for classical ballet. The work traces the story of a Vermont farm, beginning in Spring with the geese arriving, and moving through the planting and harvesting season before the geese finally fly south for the winter.
