We are used to see a group of dancers stand behind a singer and break out into choreography. Now, music videos come in every shape and form. The video for “May I Have This Dance” is a perfect example of this.
This new music video by Francis and the Lights, featuring Chance the Rapper, takes a very subtle and inventive approach to choreography. The majority of the video consists of Chance the Rapper moving around an empty dance floor as he slowly develops a dance sequence. In a way it’s like watching the choreography unveil itself.
At the end of the video Francis Farewell joins Chance to perform the movement that has resulted from Chance’s progression. A very unique and simple style of choreography to be sure. Check it out pluggers!
