In case you missed it, last night was the MTV VMA awards. Katy Perry hosted, and the whole thing was pretty uneventful (Taylor Swift dropped a new music video, but that was about it). The evening featured performances by Kendrick Lamar, Fifth Harmony and the one we're talking about today - Lorde.

Though she was scheduled to perform her song "Homemade Dynamite", she came down with a bad flu; so bad, she tweeted, that she needed an IV. Poor thing! But the show must go on, so she decided to hit play on her album and do an interpretive dance instead.

We can't say we're surprised - the twenty-year old singer has been known for throwing around some pretty interesting and unique dance moves. And we gotta give her some credit - the whole thing was definitely choreographed, and delivered with a lot of emotion. And though lots of critics are calling it weird, let's be honest - we've seen much weirder. It takes a lot to scare us dancers away!
