Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke… well it seems that the Dirty Dancing do over crew forgot about that saying. Last night, ABC presented the long awaited remake of Dirty Dancing, but the world is wishing that they hadn’t. We first heard about the adaptation back in 2011, and since then the press has stayed pretty quiet about the whole thing. Today, fans of the original motion picture are out for blood.

Dirty Dancing lovers are not happy, claiming that the movie doesn’t even come close to its predecessor. Critics are also unhappy with the lineup, believing that the cast is a mix of really great actors, dancers, and singers, but doesn’t include anyone with a talent for all three. The stars of the film include Abigail Breslin, Colt Prattes, Debra Messing, Bruce Greenwood, Nicole Scherzinger, Sarah Hyland, Tony Roberts, Katey Sagal, Billy Dee Williams and J. Quinton Johnson.

The film scored a 22% on Rotten Tomatoes, that’s a whole ten percent lower than Paul Blart: Mall Cop (33%)! It’s safe to say this was a Dirty Dancing disaster. And fans have made it clear, when it comes to recreating iconic dance movies, it’s best to leave the classics alone.
