La La Land is finally here! The much anticipated musical hit select theaters last weekend. From the start, it has touted itself as a true musical: singing, dancing, the whole nine yards. And it was choreographed by none other than Mandy Moore, who you'll probably recognize from So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing With the Stars. Many of the dance sequences take place at locations familiar to all you LA-er, like the downtown freeways and the Griffith Observatory.

Director Damien Chazelle wanted the film to be reminiscent of classic dance films like "An American in Paris" and "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers."  But he also wanted the dancing to be accessible; in other words, he wanted everyone to look like real people who have just sort of landed in a dream-like world. The stars, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, are not professional dancers - however, their emotion and natural sense of movement is enough to charm even the most critical eye. Have you seen it?
