Dr. Odom weighs in on his biggest piece of advice for dancers to increase career longevity and practice safer dance habits.

Dr. David Odom: "Practice another form of physical activity outside of dance, whether it is strength training, yoga, hiking, swimming, HIIT, etc, do something that sparks joy and makes your body feel good. Activity variety is important for the mind and body, keep it moving but also know when to rest. From an injury prevention perspective to improve your longevity, take care of those minor aches and pains before they become major injuries. As a physical therapist my clients have more success while moving better when they get regular body work and establish a routine that helps them feel good."
